Penny & Pixel exists for one kind of person: the budget-value buyer who wants 90% of the fun for 40% of the price, and is tired of "best cheap games" lists that are just a re-ranked store page with no prices and no reason to trust the order.
There are two kinds of site competing for that buyer, and both leave something on the table. Price-tracker databases have huge real-time data but no human voice — no author, no method, often no disclosure. Editorial roundups have a human voice but rarely a live buy price, almost never a value method, and never an honest "skip this." We sit in the gap: real prices and a named person, a published method, and the nerve to tell you what not to buy.

I'm not going to dress that up into something it isn't. I don't have a testing lab, a team of credentialed reviewers, or years of "industry experience" to wave at you. What I have is a method you can check and a bias toward the reader's wallet over the retailer's margin.
What we do — and what we refuse to do
The whole approach is on the how we pick page in full detail, but the short version: we compile the real current and historical-low prices, the actual playtime and replay data, and the official sale calendars, then do the value-per-dollar math and publish a verdict on every pick — including the ones to skip.
We will never claim to have hands-on tested games we haven't played, invent a review score, borrow a credential, or push you toward a gray-market key site to shave off a couple of dollars.
